Ahhh, Nick Grimshaw, how you sometimes do more than wear a shocking quiff… Anyone tuning into his BBC Radio 1 show a few weeks ago would’ve heard his sit-down with Liam Payne, the second ex-Directioner to grace our list. Yeah, sure, they talked about music, fame, and auditioning – but what really set our tongues twirling is his admittance that Cheryl Cole, his 10-years-senior partner, hates to discuss their respective ages.

“We don’t want to talk about that,” he said after Grimshaw tried to edge in a question about Cheryl being a judge on The X Factor when he was just 14. “She’s going to be really offended that you called me 12 by the way,” Liam added, jokingly, after a light taunt from his host.

Fit for a prince, but not his paramour

No horror show for Aronofsky & Lawrence

There isn’t a single living person who wouldn’t ascribe to the notion of Jennifer Lawrence’s hotness, both as a down-to-earth character and a pinup. After months of ‘maybe, maybe not’, she and auteur director Darren Aronofsky have gone public with their relationship. The man behind Black Swan has also cast her as the lead in a new horror movie, dubbed Mother!

The age gap doesn’t matter. Neither does their low-key exposure; the limelight burns strongly enough for both of them anyway. What remains cool as 50 cucumbers is their respective talent: she is one of the brightest, most flexible stars in Hollywood, and his films defy public decency. This time, as it happens, they’ve found more than religion in the desert. The pair are almost certainly an item, having skipped the Golden Globe awards for a loved up getaway. In February, they were spotted on the streets of Los Angeles, wearing wide grins and dressing casually, like they just got up…

Zayn train shows no signs of stopping

Spare a little pity for Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid: the world is following their every move, so it must be tough to embark on a promotional campaign for fashion brand Versus, getting paid a ton of money, wandering around an empty apartment for kicks.

What’s that? You don’t feel sorry for them at all? Fair enough – but they are gorgeous to look at. Gigi will be photographing a Zayn-led series, along with model Adwoa Abdoah, for a 2017 marketing push. If only all of us could have this level of fun with our better halves!

She can get him out her head

No-one can genuinely detest Kylie Minogue. She’s just so darn lovely, whatever she’s doing. We were glad she found a dude worthy of her bombshell Aussie grace when she became engaged to an actor, Joshua Sasse, after two years as an item.

It seems, however, that they hit a major snag in February. Kylie suspected there was something brewing between Sasse and a Spaniard he met on the set of his TV show. She took to Instagram soon after removing the ring and making her mind up, posting a sunset with a ‘thank you’ message for her concerned fans. Now, her former beau has been given marching order from her London home.

It isn’t concerning her, apparently: she told the Sydney Morning Herald, in an exclusive interview, that she feels great in every respect. Time to start queueing up again, fellas…

Silver is the new black

The creative process can morph mutual respect between two people into something much, much more. We’ve been able to prove this once again, following the announcement that Orange Is The New Black star Samira Wiley is dating the show’s writer/producer Lauren Morelli, after the latter split from her husband in 2014.

Working on one of TV’s hottest properties made Morelli realise that women are a source of attraction in her life. Now, that discovery has reached peak levels of cute, as the couple are officially engaged. They announced it on social media, with Samira laughing joyously over her diamond ring, and the caption ‘Yes’ below.

Hazz-e made it?

Women across the UK sobbed into their Union Jack hankies when Prince William came off the dating market. “Surely though”, they reasoned, “Harry will be a free agent for a while? He’s just so roguish!” Aside from a dream punt for Pippa Middleton, we couldn’t put our finger on anything that would take Harry out of love’s doghouse like his elder brother.

Hence, we’re delighted and gobsmacked to report that he’s linked to Suits actress Meghan Markle, three years his senior. They’re keeping it on the ‘down low’ for now, which is understandable – millions of girls could be sharpening their pitchforks.

Rumour has it they’re for life

Princess and pauper tales always get us misty-eyed, and Adele’s love story with fiancé Simon Konecki is no different. On their 5th anniversary, Adele was playing a gig. The sweetie that he is, charity owner Simon replaced her stage confetti with love notes, caught by the adoring crowd. They already have a son together, but a different sort of confetti could be on the cards, since they’re to be engaged… Watch this space for wedding bells!

Bad boy Brown’s at it again

No-one can dissuade Chris Brown from being a pillock, even if every single member of Rihanna’s fan army is calling for his misfortune. They needn’t worry, because he’s capable of inflicting it on himself; the troubled R & B singer launched a tasteless, misogynistic tirade against his current beau on Instagram last month.

It included such nuggets as “We cheat on our girlfriends, but we don’t want them to cheat on us”, and claimed he’s the hottest guy on Planet Earth. Yeah right, Chrissy. And we’re just dying to hear your next album…

Déjà vu is a strange experience, especially with lovers who remind you so much of the past. Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece is a warning of having a ‘type’, and prescribing to it forever – in this case, the ice cool blonde, who may or may not have faked her own death.

Clearly, that’s a niche attraction you won’t find on a typical dating profile. But this timeless, dream-like detective story ruthlessly looks at our need to lump old impressions on new beaus. Much better to take each girl or guy as they come, eh?

As Justin Bieber shows off his new squeeze – Lionel Richie’s 18-year old daughter, Sophia – one person definitely isn’t looking on with doe-eyed appreciation. Ex Selena Gomez, former teen idol and Disney star, hit out at The Bieb when he posted a couple-y image of the pair on Instagram.

Gomez accused him of being too public with his feelings, whereas he claimed that she used their on-off dating history for a career boost. Whatever’s going on with Selena is apparently causing concern for her family, since she’s been touring nonstop for 2 months. We reckon she’ll bounce back; hopefully, this time, without broken heart strings on social media.

The one we’ve been waiting for…

Is it the rapture? Has a miracle finally swooped down to us lesser mortals, and delivered a promise we’ve been digesting for years? Perhaps – Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Drake and Rihanna are finally, finally emerging as an official item.

Drake met Ri-Ri on the shoot of her first video, ‘Pon de Replay’, back in 2005. R&B was still untouched by the EDM influence she brought to the table, which is as unthinkable now as their ability to spend more than a few weeks apart. They’ve guested on each other’s tracks, flown around the world together, and shared hotel suites. Drake even used the word “love” in his recent VMA Award tribute to the singer. Fingers, toes and everything in between crossed that this is happening!

Making a Pratt of herself on camera

The new E4 show, Celebs Go Dating, has us all excited for the rollcall of semi-famous faces searching for romance. It’s doubly interesting that they’ll be meeting regular people – you know, the ones with blood in their veins? But for Made In Chelsea socialite Stephanie Pratt, there’s been hard luck to get this far, dating in front of the nation.

Speaking to The Mirror, she explained what happened when she met a guy in a Los Angeles eatery a few years back: “We were in a Mexican restaurant, he kept asking for more chips. He was on, like, a college diet. We went to the bar and I put down a $100 bill and ordered us drinks.” When she came back from the bathroom, there was no change; the guy pocketed the cash and left! Hamilton was spotted leaving her home, clad in the previous night’s clothes, and the pair have been snapped eating together too. Let’s hope he doesn’t burn through her as fast as his F1 competition!
