Kendall himself is quite the eccentric, and his ‘my way or the highway’ approach to bistro food is remarkably refreshing. Fairy lights and mismatched candles combine with remnants of Renaissance art spanning the walls to create a unique and relaxed atmosphere that should ease you into conversation. A few glasses of wine and an impressive meal are sure to have you saying ‘ooh la la’ by the end of your first date in Yorkshire.

Get three courses and half a bottle of house wine for £25.95 on the prix fixe menu, a price which we’d be willing to pay anywhere for a Yorkshire date. The fact that the food, wine and ambience is top notch is surely just a bonus. On the regular menu, main courses average around £15, so if you can get in early then you’ll get much better value for money

Don’t fill up on the free bread on your visit to Kendall’s, you have a culinary feast to follow and you’ll want to make the most of the classic French flavours that put your mouth in a frenzy. The menu changes almost daily depending on the seasonal and local produce available, but expect a few favourites from Cassoulet to Crème Brulee along the way.
